The YES Tour moves on! It has been an amazing week in Boulder, CO. We were graciously put up by our good friend Christie Hanzlik. Christie is a friend from college and is currently living her YES as a Christian Science Practitioner in Boulder. Click here to find out more about her practice!
It was so much fun seeing a new area, meeting new people, and connecting with old friends. I also got to spend a couple of mornings with Perry Towle. Perry and I went to school many moons ago – and it has been great to see the design work he has done over the years. He runs a great studio called TruFuel. It was great to hear how he is bringing his passion and purpose to his work – and how he is constantly searching to find work that brings more meaning!
While in the area we explored Denver and caught a Denver University Men’s soccer game. We ventured over to Golden, CO for lunch not knowing that President Obama had just given a speech at a rally. I also took time aside to visit a WorldBlu certified company – Explore Communications! I met with Brett and Mindy for a few hours to hear how they are living workplace democracy at Explore. One of the ways they demonstrate their freedom-centered leadership is by not having titles. Sure, if a client needs a title for their reference – they can produce one, but they don’t use them internally. It is real inspiring work!
The kids had a great time seeing a beautiful area in Colorado. Hollister and I were able to to break away for a few hours and hike Mt. Sanitas. What a view of Boulder from above!!!! It was fantastic!
So, we are on the road for week 3. We are off to Buena Vista, Black Canyon, and then into Arches National Park in Utah.
